Dermaplaning gives you instant results with no downtime however we recommend you have a dermaplaning facial every three to four weeks. An aesthetician will help you figure out a schedule. Each time you get dermaplaned, you're removing about two to three weeks' worth of dead skin cells.
Q&A
Dermaplaning is a quick, effective procedure that normally takes 45 minutes to complete. It is recommended that patients space treatments approximately two to four weeks apart for the best results. No, there is absolutely no recovery or down time with this treatment.
Exfoliation helps your skincare products penetrate the skin and improves their results. Dermaplaning removes excess fine hairs which are known for trapping the dirt, oil and dead skin cells in your pores that are the main cause of acne and blemishes.

Dr. David says this is a total myth. You won't grow a beard after getting dermaplaning. Your hair will grow back, but it will just look like it did before you had the treatment. If you naturally have darker hairs, they may appear thicker when they grow back, but that may simply be because you've forgotten what it was like before the treatment. "There is no scientific basis for this. A surgical blade is used, which just shaves the ends from the fine vellus hairs. Nothing happens to the follicles themselves, so the growth of the hair isn't changed.”
In general, dermaplaning is great for all skin types. However, if you have active pustular acne, you should not dermaplane those areas. It's a perfect treatment while you're pregnant too! It's safe and effective, and can really help with hormonal pregnancy breakouts significantly.
Dermaplaning is especially effective on those with dry or rough skin texture and helps to minimize superficial acne scarring or uneven skin tone. It is also beneficial for mature skin, which tends to have a buildup of dead cells as cellular turnover slows down with age.
